Clear/Ceramic Braces

What Are Ceramic Braces?

Ceramic braces are an orthodontic treatment that uses tooth-colored (clear) brackets and wires. They work just like traditional braces but are less noticeable, making it a more enjoyable experience. Plus, the ceramic braces used by Dr. Oyler are self-ligating, which means there are no noticeable elastics required.

With ceramic braces, not only will you be able to watch your smile transform without worrying about your daily appearance, but you’ll achieve greater self-confidence throughout the process.

What is the Process?

When preparing for any type of orthodontic treatment, you will need to schedule a consultation with Dr. Oyler. He will examine your smile and determine how to best address your specific issues. After crafting a personalized treatment plan, he will discuss how clear/ceramic braces work.

When it’s time to receive your new braces, he will begin by placing brackets on each tooth before stringing a tooth-colored archwire through the brackets. By continually applying the right amount of force, this wire is what will shift your teeth in the right direction.

You will be expected to maintain regular follow-up appointments so Dr. Oyler can check on your progress and make the appropriate adjustments.

What Problems Can They Solve?

Dr. Oyler may suggest ceramic braces if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Crooked teeth
  • Spaces between teeth
  • Overcrowding
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Open Bite
  • Dental Midlines
  • Misaligned Jaw

No matter the problem, you can feel confident knowing that by the time your treatment is complete, you’ll see a dramatically new and improved smile.

Understanding the Cost of Ceramic Braces

When it comes to determining the cost of your orthodontics, there really is no set price. The reason for this is that every patient is different, so while your teeth might only be slightly crooked, another person may have a severely misaligned bite.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Oyler will discuss the factors that can influence the cost of your treatment, which can include:

  • The condition and shape your teeth are in prior to receiving braces
  • The number of teeth that need to be corrected
  • The average timeframe you’ll be expected to wear your clear/ceramic braces
  • Materials that need to be used
  • The retainer you’ll need after treatment
