If you’d like to learn more about her, just keep reading below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
As a kid growing up on a cattle farm in Kentucky, Dr. Ballard realized very early on that she liked to tinker and work with her hands. She was also a child who loved science, solving puzzles, and figuring out how things worked. After a lot of thought, shadowing professionals, and asking very smart people lots of questions, she came to understand that dentistry was her true calling.
Today, Dr. Ballard still feels amazed that she’s able to pair her love of taking care of people with her passion for science and problem solving every day!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Ballard explored her love of science by earning her Bachelor’s in Biology at Eastern Kentucky University, followed by a Master’s in Oral Biology at the University of Louisville. She remained at the same school to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine. Today, while her main focus is patient care, she also places a high value of innovation and quality research. She has been published in multiple dental journals and makes every effort to stay up to date on the best techniques for the health and safety of her patients.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
As the oldest of three children who grew up on a busy family farm, Dr. Ballard definitely feels right at home in a bustling dental practice. She adores her family and spends as much quality time with them as possible outside of work. As for personal hobbies, she loves all things outdoors, from gardening to kayaking to cycling. Her best buddy is her dog Beauregard (Beau for short), and he’s never far behind. She also really enjoys cooking for loved ones, so her house is usually full of people!
