Just as a house needs a solid foundation to remain stable, so does your smile. That foundation is based on healthy gums. Dr. Oyler will first want to make sure your gums show no signs of periodontal disease. Red, swollen or bleeding gums may indicate gingivitis, the first stage of gum disease. Fortunately, we offer effective periodontal therapy to reverse the effects of gum disease so your plan for a more beautiful smile can go forward.
If we find a cavity, then it can be repaired with a tooth-colored filling. These are made of composite resin, a material that can be precisely blended to match the color of your tooth.
Invisalign®
If orthodontic treatment is part of your smile makeover plan, then Dr. Oyler can take care of that as well, with Invisalign®. This orthodontic system uses clear plastic aligners to shift the teeth into their correct positions. Invisalign® can be used to correct a number of orthodontic concerns, such as an overbite, underbite, crossbite, rotated (crooked) teeth, and even teeth that are irregularly spaced.
Invisalign® clear braces are removable, so you’ll be able to take them out whenever you want to eat or when it’s time to brush and floss your teeth. Worn consistently for at least 22 hours per day, you can look forward to having a straight smile within two years.
Porcelain Veneers
Have you ever thought about covering up some of your teeth because they are so unsightly? Well, that’s exactly what porcelain veneers do. Veneers are ultra thin coverings that Dr. Oyler bonds to the facial side of the teeth that are marred by permanent stains, cracks, chips or fractures. Teeth Whitening
As the finishing touch to your smile makeover, Dr. Oyler may recommend teeth whitening. We offer both an in-office whitening system as well as a take-home kit. With in-office whitening, a powerful bleaching gel is applied to your teeth. Depending on the treatment, a special light may be needed to activate and speed up the whitening process. In any case, your smile will be several shades whiter after only one treatment. The take-home kit offers the same results, but the transformation happens more gradually.
